Doble guante 2012
The project starts from the need expressed by a colleague. Taking as reference your request "I want to eliminate my loneliness" I considered it essential to create a piece with that pretext. Through the relation of a poetic object and the body, I decided to fulfill the function of breaking with his feeling of solitude. An apparatus understood as a "pain medication", adaptable to any location or situation desired by the individual.
Loneliness is the feeling that arises when it is found that I am nothing, nor nobody for a "somebody", therefore the antidote will be the experience of importing to another, to discover that for me another thinks, lives, acts and chooses; To feel loved simply for being me.
This approach, made me reflect through the cotton cloth the non visible link established in social relations. That is why, keeping the idea of a conventional glove, I made a piece that allows the user to link to another person. The object, consists of two entrances that accommodate two arms placed in mirror. They do not unite on the same seam, leaving a central fragment, which grants a detached union between individuals. The arms are not placed fully coupled to facilitate fluid and free movement, without obligation to maintain a static and concrete position, as it would give a focus of imposition and repression. My intention is to make visible the support of another person through an object taken as an excuse.
